The Scientific Center’s Aquarium (the largest in the Middle East Region so far), allows visitors to witness representations of the three main environments in the Arabian Peninsula region: the sea, the desert and the coastal edge. Each area contains specimens of animal, plant and marine life found in that region. The Marine section contains several tanks. Probably the most dramatic of the tanks is the Arabian Gulf Fishes tank, with a capacity of 1.5 million liters of water that houses a variety of sharks and rays. Another awe inspiring tank contains sharks and rays of the coral reefs, with the capacity of 100,000 litres.
There are scheduled public feedings in these two tanks for visitors to witness, done by young Kuwaiti divers of the Scientific Center. In the Desert section, the visitor sees local mammals, reptiles and birds, In the Coastal Edge, there are a variety of animals and wildlife.
the journey through the three environments of the Aquarium is full of knowledge and beaty seen in the animals and ambiant sorroundings.
visitors can also have a guided tour, with an escort to give them information about the animals during their visit. The Aquarium also offers a unique program " Dive With the Sharks " which enables divers to swim alongside the sharks at the Main Tank.
